Mother's Day was wonderful. The boys gave me flowers for the front porch...which are now mostly dead. It's not their fault. I take full resposibility for their demise. So far I've been able to keep my children alive. That should count for something, right? I think if my plants screamed and cried when they were lacking nourishment and love they would be doing better...maybe. Back to Mother's Day. I love being a mom to these two little guys. They teach me a lot more than I think I'm teaching them. I cried a lot of tears wondering if I would ever be a mom and now that I am a mom I still cry a lot of tears! They are sweet and tender and frustrating and patience-building and incredibly strong little men....and I love them more than anything.
Father's Day. I tell my boys on a regular basis that I am the luckiest girl in the world. Looking at these handsome fellows it's easy to see why! Brian got a garden hose and gorilla tape for Father's Day. It's what every dad dreams of, right? I'm still in the process of finishing (starting!) a picture block for him. He is such a great dad. A couple of weeks ago I went with some friends for a girls night out. Brian and the boys came up with the game "Water-balloon Baseball" and had a blast playing. He is lots of fun and a great example to our boys. The boys adore him and he is my very best friend. 
Our washing machine is old. Every time I turn it on I wonder if it's going to be the last. It makes the dishes in the kitchen cabinet rattle when it's on the spin cycle it shakes so bad! I'm sure Katherine and Marc think it's going to crash through their ceiling onto their table one of these days! Even though a new washer/dryer would be fun these are working (mostly) and we've found a new form of entertainment. When it starts to shake the boys run in there and I hoist them up for a little rodeo on the Wild West Point Washer.
4th of July. I forgot my camera so the cell phone had to do. We went to the West Point parade in the morning and then over to the park for the free kids activities and lunch. Ryker won a patriotic pair of glasses from the fish pond....
...and Jaxon won this patriotic hat. I think I'm still finding blue glitter! We quickly took these two pictures and them tossed the prizes in the garbage. Thank you, but no thank you. Later that night we went to the West Point fireworks. For a small town they put on a pretty good show.
We went to the Brigham City fireworks on the night of the 5th. The fireworks themselves were pretty good, but the real excitement was the pieces of the fireworks falling from the sky and hitting people! These are pieces Jaxon picked up around us after the show.
This is the piece that hit Brian during the show! It was crazy! Definitely not a night we will soon forget.
The boys got this bouncer for Christmas in 2008 and we set it up for the first time a couple of weeks ago. It has a trampoline in the middle with a net all the way around. We had a bag full of balls that we threw in there for the boys to jump with. It only took us 18 months to take it out of the box. Some things take time. It is what it is.
Ryker didn't like being bounced so much at the beginning. This is him throwing a fit. He's getting pretty good at that. Fits, that is. He also likes the bounce house now. That is if he's in the right mood for it.
This is the paint swatch I have on my kitchen wall. I think I'm painting my kitchen red. Could you tell? I'm just lacking a little courage. Or motivation. I want it done. I want the whole house done. I just don't want to get it ready or deal with the mess. Mostly the mess. I'll be happy when it's done. Maybe I'll order the paint today and do it this week. Maybe. You know how I roll!
We also planted our very first garden this year! Look at those big beautiful plants!! I have really enjoyed watching it grow. It's been an experiment and I've learned a lot. I went to the green house and bought 3 tomato plants...or so I thought. Turns out I bought 3 flats and we have 9 tomato plants! And I don't even eat tomatoes :) Ha! Good thing Brian, Jaxon, Marc, and Katherine like tomatoes because they'll be coming out of our ears! We also planted two mini pumpkin plants, a zucchini plant, and 3 cucumbers. The cucumbers didn't last a week and I haven't seen any sign of the zucchini. I'm afraid it too has succumbed to the death of my black thumb.
Can you see the tiny green tomatoes? I'm so excited....even if I won't be eating many...if any at all!
